Even boring household stuff isn’t safe from my cat obsession. We’re always losing clothes pegs so I made a bag to put them in when they’re not in use.

For this you’ll need some fabric and a coat hanger. I used a kids plastic one from Ikea. I cut the coat hanger so that it was as wide as I wanted the bag to be.

Draw round the top of the hanger on the wrong side of the fabric, leaving half an inch for the seam allowance. Draw out the bag shape below the hanger and cut out. Cut another piece the same shape but an inch longer.

Cut the longer piece in half width-ways

Sew the two pieces back together but leave a large gap in the middle. You only really need to sew an inch or two together on each side. Piece flat and iron out the seam.

Stitch along the edge of the gap on each side to secure the hem. Take the two pieces and lay them right sides together. Sew them together leaving a gap of about two inches at the middle of the top for the top of the hanger to slot through.

Slide the hanger in, through the big hole on the front so it sits nicely in the top of the bag with the hangy bit poking out and fill with pegs.
